Cima Investment Group (“Cima,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you visit cimainvest.com, use our investor portal at cimainvest.invportal.com, communicate with us by phone, email, or text message, or otherwise interact with us (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide to us directly, information collected automatically when you use the Services, and limited information from third parties.
Information you provide may include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone and mobile phone numbers, company and job title, accredited investor status, investment preferences, and the contents of messages you send us. If you register for the investor portal or subscribe to an offering, we may also collect date of birth, Social Security or tax identification number, government-issued identification, bank or wire instructions, and other information required to verify your identity, confirm eligibility, and process your investment under applicable securities and anti-money laundering laws.
Information collected automatically may include your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and similar usage data gathered through cookies and analytics tools described below.
Information from third parties may include verification results from identity and accreditation verification providers, contact details from referral partners or publicly available sources, and information from service providers that support our Services.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to operate the Services and manage our relationship with you. This includes responding to your inquiries, evaluating investor eligibility, processing subscriptions and distributions, delivering investor reports and tax documents, providing access to the investor portal, communicating with you about offerings and your investments, complying with legal and regulatory obligations, detecting and preventing fraud, and improving our website and Services.
We may send you communications by mail, email, telephone, or text message for these purposes. Where required by law, we obtain your consent before sending certain communications and honor your request to stop at any time.
SMS and text message communications
If you provide your mobile phone number and consent to receive text messages from Cima Investment Group, we will use that number only for one-to-one conversational text messages related to your inquiry, your account, or your investment, such as scheduling calls, sending links to the investor portal, confirming receipt of documents, and answering your questions. We do not use SMS for marketing, promotional, automated, or bulk messaging.
Consent is obtained from you directly, by telephone or in person when you provide your mobile number and agree to be contacted by text, in writing by email when you request text communication, or when you send a text message to our number first. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of making any investment.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, after which you will receive one confirmation message and no further texts from that number. You may reply HELP for assistance or contact us at ir@cimainvest.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share mobile numbers only with the service providers that deliver text messages on our behalf, and only for that purpose.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the Services and as described here.
We share information with service providers that perform functions on our behalf, including investor portal and fund administration platforms, identity and accreditation verification providers, electronic signature providers, email, telephone, and messaging providers, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer relationship management tools. These providers may use your information only to perform services for us.
We share information with affiliated entities within the Cima family of companies, including Cima Senior Living and the investment vehicles we sponsor or manage, where needed to administer your investment.
We share information with professional advisers such as attorneys, accountants, auditors, and fund administrators, and with regulators, courts, and law enforcement where required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
If Cima is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the site, and measure the effectiveness of our communications. We may use third-party analytics and advertising services, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta, which collect usage data through their own cookies and pixels and may use it according to their own privacy policies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the website. We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
Data retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, administer your investment, and meet our legal, regulatory, tax, and recordkeeping obligations, which for investor records may extend for several years after your investment ends. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and vendor security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please notify us promptly at ir@cimainvest.com if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
Your rights and choices
You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in any email, opt out of text messages by replying STOP, and ask us not to call you by telling us during a call or emailing ir@cimainvest.com. We will continue to send transactional and legally required communications about your investment.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing ir@cimainvest.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may decline requests where retention is required by law or where the information is needed to administer your investment.
If you are a California resident, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared, to request deletion or correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. Residents of other states with similar privacy laws may have comparable rights and may exercise them through the same contact.
Children
The Services are intended for adults and accredited investors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
The Services may link to websites and services operated by others, including our investor portal provider, DocuSign, and financial institutions. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page, and where appropriate we will notify you by email. Your continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
